Director of Simulation, Advocate Aurora Health
Kelley Sava MS, APN, CPNP-PC earned her Bachelors Degree from Rockford College and her Master’s Degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago. With a focus in pediatric nursing, Kelley was privileged to serve as a bedside nurse and an advanced practice nurse in a hospital setting and as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient setting. During her tenure and an inpatient advanced practice nurse she became passionate about simulation and the impact that it has on the care that clinicians provide. Currently Kelley is the Director of Simulation for Advocate Aurora Health. In this role she is focused on developing a simulation strategy to serve team members across the enterprise.
In her role as Director of System Simulation for Advocate Healthcare, Kelley built an integrated simulation program from the ground up. The program currently has 5 high fidelity simulation centers and is in the process of designing 5 additional centers. Kelley has been involved in the centers from design through operationalization. In addition, Kelley has built a team of simulation experts who focus on designing, implementing and evaluating high quality simulation programs for both clinicians and non-clinicians.
The Mission of Advocate Healthcare is integrated simulation program is to develop a critically thinking inter-professional workforce through continual professional development based in adult learning principles. The program focuses on teamwork, communication and clinical judgement skills to foster the safest and best care for our patients across the continuum.
